I would have left but I had prepaid, it was the night before the eclipse and when I had tried to book a room 2 weeks earlier this was one of the last non-smoking room options, and my kids were already asleep when I came across these red flags that my room had not been cleaned/linens had not been changed: There was a puff of hair in between my pillow and the headboard (like someone had cleaned out their brush and left it there). While looking for an outlet near the bedside table, I pulled back the bed spread and there was a $5 folded up on the floor between the bedside table and the platform the bed sits on. When I looked on the other side of the bedside table there was a hair tie between the table and the bed platform.
Just inspected beds in rm 149 & found bed bugs.
After a long overseas flight and drive from New York to Florida, I stopped here for the night. I did look at reviews online but I was too tired to be picky. I agree that the facility might benefit from a minor makeover but I am here to sleep, shower, and go. My room was clean. No smell... No bugs. My shower was hot and refreshing. And in the morning I had a nice continental breakfast. They had Coffee, tea, milk, O.J., cranberry juice, oatmeal, 4 cereal flavors, waffles, toast, bagels, muffins, Jimmy Dean sausage biscuits, hard boiled eggs, apples, bananas, peanut butter, jelly, cream cheese and butter. Price for room was $65 ... which is about the market rates, although.. I feel that's a little high. My room also could be used to join to another, great for large families. I would stay here again.
Nice. good value
**THERE IS NO BAR HERE!** Well, you get what you pay for. Room smells like cat urine when the ac is turned on. Some towels had stains on them. Bed was comfortable though. The only purpose of my stay here was to get some rest overnight for my road trip. The staff is very professional and very nice!! The free breakfast was decent also. For the money, I got what I paid for, and it did its job. But if you have a sensitive nose, be warned of the smell!!
Over all, it was a disappointing experience made worse by the fact that the manager clearly doesn't care since he didn't even attempt to follow up.
I don't expect amazing breakfast buffets when they are free, but after attempting to get a plate and finding that my options were luke-warm or tasteless, I decided to pack up myself and the kids and grab breakfast on the road. When I opened the hatch to start loading my bags, I found my car infested with ants. While I was in the parking lot trying to determine my next course of action, 3 other couples came out to find their cars all infested with ants. All of us were parked on the row facing trees, bushes, etc. I would have thought this a random occurrence, however, the maintenance man for the hotel came by and said "We have that area treated regularly". If a random patch of grass/tress, etc is treated by the hotel's exterminator it is a known problem to management. After some time, the hotel maintenance man came out with a can of Roach and Ant Raid for me and one of the other people with an infested car (the other two people declined).
After an hour and a half, I was able to pack up my car and was pretty confident all the ants were dead . While checking out I asked to speak with the manager and was told he was unavailable. The staff member said she would pass my name and number to him so he could call me back. Well, he didn't call me back that day, he didn't call me back the next and he never called my back.
