I've stayed at this location twice now within a few year on my way to Florida. The rooms are fairly new and the beds are very comfortable. Last night I checked in and had trouble with the key to the door and the door sticking, not once but twice. The maintenance person Chris was wonderful in helping us. He not only checked out that issue but gave the room a look over to see if it needed anything else and found the phone was out of order. He walked us back to the office to get another room. He was kind and professional. He seemed to really care about our quality of stay and as a consumer I appreciate that.
When staying at a Red Roof Inn accommodations are as expected. I will say the rooms were pleasantly refurbished. They were clean and easy enough. We were limited to room selection due to occupancy but that had nothing to do with the quality of the facility. So when on the road and needing a quick and inexpensive place to stay this definitely fit the bill especially being that it was pet friendly.
I've been staying here for a year now, as an over the road truck driver I know this is the one place I can come and feel clean and be peaceful. NOT TONIGHT! Hands down the worst experience I've had at ANY hotel. The smell was stomach turning and that's on top of the room smelling like smoke...with my asthma that's a no go... Especially from a hotel claiming to be smoke free. Every piece of linen was stained from the top spread to the pillow cases and sheets... There were a few bugs in the bathroom as well. I've never been more disappointed and I ended up staying in my truck tonight. Won't ever stay here again... That's for damn sure.
I don't know how this hotel is rated higher. We stayed at this hotel after hurricane Irma when we were on our way back home. There were no other rooms available at any other hotels. This is the second time I've stayed at a Red Roof Inn (two different ones) and that experience wasn't very good either. Where do I start: There was mold under the shower soap dish and there was a clump of hair in the shower drain. They have a safe in the room and they automatically charge you for use whether you use it or not. You need to say something when you check out so you don't get charged for it. We had the standard room and there was no fridge, microwave or coffee pot. I later found out that their "upgraded king rooms" were the only rooms that had these. Other hotels I've stayed at had them in all rooms whether it was an upgraded room or not. In the bathroom there were two washcloths, two bath towels, one hand towel and only one small trash can in the room. The air conditioner was EXTREMELY LOUD and made it difficult to sleep. We tried to call the front desk to find out what time check-out was and the phone in the room didn't work. I used my cell phone to call the front desk and no one would answer. I let it ring 20 times. I ended up calling the corporate office to find out what time check-out was.
While evacuating from Hurricane Irma, our car broke down, and we were towed to this hotel. Unfortunately they were all booked, but my 5 year old was freezing and sick. The woman that worked around 4am on 9/9 was amazing. She let him stay inside to warm up, gave him some warm tea, and even let him watch videos on her phone while his mom and I tried to find us a room. If it wasn't for her, I'm sure that he would be sick as a dog right now. Really reinstated some of my faith in humanity. This woman absolutely needs a raise or promotion or something!!!
